New York Creates 'Texting Zones' Along Highways

In an effort to cut down on texting-related accidents, New York has created 91 texting zones with 298 signs directing drivers to the zones on thruways and state highways. Drivers can pull over in these zones, send a text, then hop back on the highway. Texting while driving is a serious problem (it's the leading cause of teen deaths right now) but I wonder how many people will actually utilize these zones? Maybe more, now that NY has recently increased the fines for texting offenses.
