While it's unclear as to what role (if any) the Seattle Public Schools Native Education department is playing to address the "slated demolition" of Wilson-Pacific High School in Seattle—home to a 40-year-old Native education program for students in grades 6-12, members of the Native community in Seattle advocated and were victorious, saving the teaching and learning of indigenous knowledge by proposing Native Heritage AS-1, a K-8 (with the hopes of soon becoming K-12) Native education program.
