Muriel Siebert - A Female Force to Be Reckoned With on Wall Street

1365:1 - was the ratio of men to women who held seats on the New York Stock Exchange after Muriel Siebert was elected to join in 1967. It stayed this way for another 10 years. Ms. Siebert came to New York in 1954 "with $500, a Studebaker, and a dream." As a "scrapper," she championed women's rights on Wall Street, got women's washrooms in the exchange, broke gender barriers at social clubs in NY, and gave millions to help women get started in finance. Ms. Siebert was 84 years young.
