Meet The Philadelphia School Employees Who Are Fighting For Their Jobs

A $304 million shortfall has forced the Philadelphia School District to consider laying off nearly one-fifth of its workforce, including 646 teachers, 1,200 school aides and all 127 assistant principals. The district anticipates the closure of 23 schools; several others will open in the fall without school counselors or security guards.

English teacher Larissa Pahomov created a website that's basically a never-ending scroll of all the employees who have received pink slips -- their photos and a short biography. It's a last ditch attempt to bring publicity to the issue and hopefully convince the powers-that-be to scrape together the necessary funds to avert the worst of the cuts.
