Mapping Racist Tweets in Response to President Obama's Re-election

The data obsessed academics over at Floating Sheep have "collected all the geocoded tweets from the last week (beginning November 1) with racist terms that also reference the election in order to understand how these everyday acts of explicit racism are spatially distributed." So which state generated the most racist tweets in response to Obama? Hint: It's not Rhode Island.

    I think one way to respond to this is to boycott tourism in the states where such hatred is prevalent. I am very much less inclined to visit those states, because I'm fairly sure I'm not going to like a lot of the people. If I have travel money to spend, I would rather spend it somewhere where the people are hospitable!
