Malala Turned 16 Today and Solidified Her Badass Status at the UN

Last October the Taliban shot her in the head for speaking up for girls' education in Pakistan. Today she stood before the UN five months after her release from the hospital to tell them they failed. “Malala Day is not my day. Today is the day of every woman, every boy, and every girl who have raised their voice for their rights," she said. That is one courageous young woman.

    one day this girl will be a historic legend, one who will be told in stories, read in textbooks and used as an example all over the world. she will be a symbol of hope, strength, and endurance. but most of all, she will be known as one of the few who lead the way to a brighter future.
