Local artists adorn sidewalk drains to prevent water pollution

Nine mid-Missouri artists traded in canvas for cement over the past five months to spread awareness about stormwater drain pollution. The artists painted nine storm drains -- one with an overwhelming octopus, another with a poised heron on the lookout for incoming plastic cups, cigarette butts, etc. -- in collaboration with a project to keep local waterways clean. How can your community help keep the world's clean water pollutant-free? Sometimes all it takes is a paintbrush and an idea.
