Kindness is the most underrated virtue

Lovingkindness, a translation of the Pali word mettā that is found in the original Buddhist texts, is not an abstract idea but rater a practice that allows us to appreciate that everyone, including our enemies, want to be happy.

While kindness is often viewed as a sign of meekness, in today's lesson, meditation teacher Sharon Salzberg argues that kindness needs to be elevated as a strong virtue, one that can be "infused with wisdom, supported by courage, and threaded with balance."
