“Jordan Davis in our Classrooms” – Teaching Resource on Racial Injustice

We have to get serious about educating young minds about what racism is, how it manifests and from where it comes. For some teachers putting race into context can feel like an insurmountable hurdle. Yet in public school classrooms across America race and racial injustice are very real and relevant for students. Through teaching, we acknowledge students’ reality and arm students with the tools and knowledge to better engage complex issues like systemic racism and racial injustice.

    I love how the lesson on justice is outlined out in this article. Really cool to see prompts like this. And, I like how some of the questions don't bring race into the question itself until you look at the references. I would be interested to see students' responses.
