We were able to save an alley that the city did not want and planned to give to adjacent property owners. This happens several times a year but we saw potential for pedestrian use and stopped it. Now we need a few hours of volunteer work to keep it clean and an artist or graphic designer to help on design and planning for a grant application for permanent improvements.

Hi Tom, that's amazing. Who did you get involved to save the alley? That's a great way to start and invest in your own community. When neighbors see that someone else cares it compels them to join in and support. I think you should share this as a LEARN post to drive visibility to your project. You may get some creative ideas on design and planning.
