International Funding for Primary Education Falling, Endangering MDG Achievement

Foreign aid to primary education programs in the world's poorest countries is falling for the first time since 2002, according to a new study published by UNESCO.

Six of the top 10 donor countries (Canada, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway and the United States) cut spending to primary education in poor countries. Even multilateral organizations like the World Bank have slashed funding, according to The Guardian.
