Programming pioneers were mostly women? Why make a fallacious feminist claim when you could make a true one, like "Some of the most important programmers in history were women!", or reiterate an important point like "Dear god we need women programmers, there are none of them!"?

Has anyone tried to learn to code this year?

    • Tyler Hoehne

I have tried a few times to learn and for me I think its just remembering all the rules. With graphic design, rules are subjective and how you make something is up to you. With web though, if you don't do everything a specific way, the site wont work.

I have! I tried for a number of years to teach myself web design and when i was a lot younger i knew html back and forth. I was all over www3 schools,, and what ever blog and forum is out there. My conclusion is my brain just cant think in terms of coding. I go cross eyed when I look at it. I'm a visual designer through and through. But every couple months I get the urge to jump back into it

What typically trips you up? Are you going to try coding for good?

  • Daniel Eric Carlos Hector Alberto Sabio

As a coder and general nerd, I can't help but smile when I see the pixel-art pictures in this infographic, and it really IS true. Programming will be the next generations' second languages...right now they are teaching kids in Estonia to code by first grade!

Does it threaten my future in this field? Maybe. Does it inspire me and my thoughts for the future? Yes! :)
