I wish my city had bins like this

Residents in surrounding apartments all have a pass, which they swipe to open the bin and add their rubbish. The rubbish is stored underground, and emptied by smart trucks -- no smell, no mess, no bins in the way on bin day.

    Until the chip reader is faulty and you're left with a pile of mess around the bin anyways..Eindhoven resident here. This has happened three times in my block alone during the past half year or so.

      Ah damn... oh well. I was there for a couple of months and never saw that -- I guess the grass is always greener on the other side =)

      I wonder why the chip reader fails.
