We're grateful this #GivingTuesday to be featured as an Indiegogo non-profit partner! Impact Bay Area teaches personal safety and full-force self-defense, so our students have the practical skills to live fuller, more confident lives. We've started an Indiegogo campaign called "Go Commando" and we hope the community will help us gain traction so we can offer these life-changing skills to women & girls who can't afford it. All donations will be increased 5% today -- so your generosity goes 5% farther today thanks to the wonderful folks at Indiegogo and FirstGiving. Check it out here:

We've also got a NEW videos posted, where you can see our students defending themselves full force against mock assailant instructors. It's hard to describe the POWER of Impact, so please take a minute to see for yourself:

  • Students for Sensible Drug Policy

Hello Everyone! Our campaign, Schools Not Prisons!, is an ambitious campaign to raise money to support Students for Sensible Drug Policy. The only international grassroots student organization working to reform bad drug laws. With over 225 chapters in America, and over 2 dozen international chapters, we fight back against counterproductive drug policies that directly harm youth and students. We are almost 60% to our goal, and your support on #GivingTuesday could really push us over the edge. Scoot over to our campaign page and take a look at what we have been up to and consider donating or sharing our campaign today. Thanks!

Our Giving Tuesday campaign, The ILIAD Project, is the first ever Multi-Scientist Open Experiment (MMOE), to help anyone identify antibiotics at home and learn more about antibiotic resistance. We are 2 PhDs from The University of Chicago, one of which is off to work at NASA next year. Feel free donate, share our campaign, or learn something about the importance of identifying new antibiotics:

Hello, everyone! My campaign was also selected for Giving Tuesday! I am a graduate student studying Egyptology and I am raising money to go on my first dig in Egypt. My overall academic goal is to further understanding of ancient women's lives on their own terms, not just as daughter of x and wife of y. Please consider sharing my link, even if you cannot donate!

    Happy Giving Tuesday everyone!

Our campaign is also taking part in this day long initiative to raise funds for "The P.E.A.R.L.S Monologues". We're a DC based community organization empowering school aged girls to be Powerful Educated Ambitious Respected Liberated Sisters through after-school programming. "The P.E.A.R.L.S Monologues" is a platform combining arts and theater with real time issues that girls face and the steps they take to overcome them.

We are also on Indiegogo with Qboo, a set of plush toys to interact with educational tablet apps... and participating in Giving Tuesday! We hope to donate additional funds we raise through Indiegogo Giving Tuesday to an organization such as "Save the Children" to support children in need.

Thank you very much Alessandra! We are just starting and we really value all the feedback to innovate next generation of toys!

How cool! I love the idea of Giving Tuesday--it encourages people to help and make contributions to others instead of just fueling consumerism like Black Friday and Cyber Monday do

    • Alessandra Rizzotti

My favorite part of this is that Indiegogo is giving back through the funds they raise!

We're also excited about this! Thanks for mentioning our campaign to reach more girls and get them excited about engineering and technology!
