    This infographic is so cool! I never thought genetics could play a role in my food preferences - but it makes perfect sense. I've also noticed that as I get older my taste buds have changed - I crave more savory items than sweet and I seek strong herb tastes like basil, rosemary, and lemongrass. Do you know anything about how your age affects your taste preferences or taste buds?

    SO funny. I know people that have always told me, "I hate Cilantro." And I'd look at them like they were crazy. As in, how could you live without it? HELLO -- guacamole??? But I guess, now I understand it's genetic, and I feel bad for them ;)

      Haha that one made me laugh too. I know so many cilantro haters, but it's not their fault!

    This is definitely great to keep in mind for Thanksgiving. Seems like we should be eating fish for the holidays instead! It's pretty amazing how food consumption AND the environment in which we live change our genes too. Technically we all used to live closer to the sea, and so we ate fish more- and therefore had more omega 3s in our diet. The farther we moved from the sea with suburban development, the less accessible fish was-- and the less omega 3s we had -- so we're more prone to arthritis now. Food is so tied to environment. I'd love to learn more about food science. It's such a growing field and has so much potential for changing lives.
