Don't worry, there's an app for that.

> HandUp is direct giving for homeless people and others in need in your neighborhood.

Apps and programs like this strive to do good, and I think they are, but are they missing the point? Are they addressing the wrong problem?

Are there better ways to use our talents to try and solve the more underlying, systemic issues?

If we don't ask we'll never know.

    Projects like this one are the true essence of the power of the internet. It's this easy to connect a person in need to a wast community with the potential to help. We need a HandUp in every city, connecting directly with the people in need of help is the best way to ensure they get helped and that empathy and compassion are reinforced. After all if we all give a serious damn we can solve any issue!
