Entitlements...let's cut from the people who need it most in order to continue to fund our corporate welfare state. I am truly saddened by the effectiveness of this misinformation campaign!

This Congress is worse than useless. Not only have they passed fewer pieces of legislation, the ones the day pass - like this one - cause immeasurable damage. Sometimes democracy sucks. Where are the philosopher kings?

I agree. I'm really saddened by this- and I hope that this does not become definite. My father is on SNAP and really relies on it for finding vegetables to eat.

Alessandra, some communities are now offering "bonus bucks" for individuals and families using SNAP to purchase fresh fruits and is offered here in Cleveland, Ohio...might be worth pursuing in your area.

I'll check it out for him in Massachusetts. Thanks John!

Are there any farmers markets near him? They're often willing to supply what they don't sell to orgs and individuals in need.

Good to know. He did say that his SNAP card seems to work at Farmer's Markets. I appreciate the response.

I was sure this wasn't happening. Is this a definite? Not looking forward to seeing how this affects people.

It's nightmarish in its reality, isn't it? My jaw dropped, my heart sank--it is true, the victims of this economy are to be further sacrificed.

Major flaw in good paradigm (same flaw as FB likes) is that sharing bad news reads like an endorsement of something we'd rather not see happen.

      • Alessandra Rizzotti

Interesting Beads. I'll bring it up to Product. Of course by "It's Gooding" this, I wasn't endorsing the bad news. I was simply showing William I appreciated that he shared this information.

Yep. It's an paradigm issue that's reproduced on many different sites. We all work around the limitation by guessing the intended meaning, but this assumes that the person reading the post and the person "gooding"/"liking" the post both have the same values about what is or isn't positive.
