Hidden City: Archaeologists Just Discovered Angkor Wat Was Huge

The already-amazing ruins of Angkor Wat just became even more incredible. Using LIDAR, tech that can help discover hidden shapes in a landscape, archaeologists found the remains of a 13-square mile city at the site, including temples and a grid of ancient roads and canals. After 1200 years, even local villagers didn't know the ruins were there. It's an amazing story of how new tech is transforming exploration.
