Here We Go Again: School Punishes Little Black Girl for Being Black

Sounds like a bad plot from an afterschool special. A young girl reports to school authorities that she's being bullied over her hairstyle. How do officials respond? They threaten 12-year-old w/ expulsion, calling her hair a "distraction" and mandating she cut and straighten it or she will not be allowed to continue in school. Complicating the plot: the girl is Black, hairstyle is her natural hair, and it's a tax-funded Christian school that is now acting like a bully! Cue well-deserved outrage.
