Awesome renovation will create a 73-seat theater exclusively screening "first-run nonfiction films."

LA should follow suit...

I wonder:
Who will be curating the films?
Do you think this will open up new opportunities for emerging filmmakers to gain the credibility needed, especially in light of the updated guidelines for the Academy Awards' documentary section?

    This sounds great! Do you know of any similar theaters or concepts in LA?

      I was just wondering that! Nothing exclusive that I know about, but the IDA is here and a bunch of independent theaters like Cinefamily are always eager to show films that don't have distribution. Honestly, if there is one dream I have for LA, it's to start something like this...
