Deep down, we all know that TVs and cars won't make us happy. Even higher salaries. But, in some instances, money can make us happier. There's one important caveat, however: in order to feel a jolt of happiness, you need to spend the money on other people. In fact, spending as little as $5 can do the trick. Google knows this well, and has set up a program that encourages its employees to nominate each other for a $150 bonus. That may seem like small change, but the emotional payoff is huge.
