France Bans Beauty Pageants For Young Girls

As part of a larger bill on women's rights, the French government has banned beauty pageants for girls under 16 years old. Quebec, Belgium and Britain are already taking steps to follow suit. Is the end of Toddlers & Tiaras in near sight? Probably not--the U.S. pageant industry annually rakes in $5 billion.

    Love that they made this move. As a former child actor/model, I can say that beauty pageants are the worst for one's psyche. It's not a healthy way to develop a sense of self-image and when young girl's grow up, their expectations for life are a little skewed. Totally just got personal- but yay to France!
