HIV/AIDS vaccine research is a hot topic at the moment with advances in South Africa, a country with one of the world's highest HIV prevalences, detailing a mechanism by which HIV neutralising antibodies develop naturally in some individuals - antibodies that kill almost 88% of HIV strains. This important new finding, recently http://www.nature.com/nm/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/nm.2985.html, could provide clues for a new approach towards vaccine development.
