Along with Afghanistan and Nigeria, Pakistan is one of three countries where polio remains endemic. In Pakistan, women such as Gulnaz Sherazi risks their lives daily to vaccinate children against polio. Sherazi saw her niece, also a vaccinator, just after she had been killed, yet she continues her job for the sake of her community and her country. "We all die one day," said Sherazi to The Independent. "So why not die as a brave person?"
