Feeling the Furlough, D.C. Day 3

The worst in Congress brings out the best in our district. As all of Washington, D.C. is feeling the affects of the government shutdown, many local restaurants and business banded together to offer freebies for furloughed federal employees. From free sandwiches, to coffee, to Pilates, it's enlightening to see private businesses support those who truly suffer during a shutdown- the workers.

    This is really encouraging to see the community band together this way. Are you over there? What is it like if so?

      It's eerie. There doesn't seem to be any compromise in Congress, and so many people, myself included, are still out of work! I'm hoping for some sense of normalcy soon.
