FDA Moves to Ban Trans Fats

The FDA released a proposal to eliminate the use of trans fats from food products on Thursday. The proposal concludes that artery-clogging partially hydrogenated oils are "not generally recognized as safe for use in food." The CDC estimates that this ban could save 20,000 heart attacks and 7,000 deaths from heart disease each year.

    Amazing that the government is actually making an effort to impact our health through food. I wish they'd do that with the environment!
