EPA's 'Clean Air Act' Encourages Use of Natural Gas

As good as it is that the EPA has proposed limits on carbon emissions from power plants, this move has created incentive for power plants to be fired by natural gas--which is as damaging to the environment (and arguably worse.) Natural gas is extracted from shale beds through fracking, which comes with a slew of environmental and health concerns, like the release of methane into the atmosphere, and the poisonous additives that leak into soil and water around the wells.
