Eight Foods Eaten in the U.S. That Are Banned in Other Countries

In the U.S., we are still eating and drinking things that are proven to be unhealthy and unacceptable elsewhere, putting a whole new meaning to the phrase "food poisoning." Some, of these items, like sugar and high fructose corn syrup you may have heard of, but others, like disodium EDTA, benzoates and BVO you may still be unaware of. Here's a list of eight foods you should stay away from.

    This is so disturbing to me - it's shocking how much of what we eat contains things that are not only unhealthy but dangerous. Just cutting out junk food is not nearly enough- even foods such as bread, milk, cheese have these dangerous ingredients... I don't know what to eat now... depressed.

      It's depressing to think of everything that goes into our food, yet. But I think a pretty simple rule to follow is to avoid processed foods and just eat whole foods, and fruits, and vegetables. Of course, reading anything by Michael Pollan will likely help make things more clear:
