The words of actor/writer/exec producer Chris Messina struck a chord with me, both as a writer and an educator. It's humbling to realize that just because I have a good idea does not mean that it will work for the kids I am dealing with. I have to be ok with being flexible, listening, letting things "fail," trying things I'm not comfortable with, and ultimately focusing less on ME/MY IDEAS and more on the kids I serve.
