    For a DIY approach to the Cuppow, just take a church-key style can punch to a normal mason jar lid. Make one bigger hole to drink from, and a smaller hole above for the vent. The sharp edges are pushed downwards into the cup, so you don't need to worry about cutting your lip. You could also take a file to it and easily round out the sharp edges. That way it's plastic-free, reusable, and easy to make with home materials...

    It would be cool it the plastic lids for the Mason jars were biodegradable, dishwasher safe and recyclable or maybe a molding kit so you can make your own. Perhaps the lids could come with cozy's of some kind so hot drinks are more appealing to have in a glass?
