Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Woman Runs 366 Marathons in 365 Days

For an entire year, on each day of the 365 available to her, 41-year-old Annette Fredskov of Denmark ran the length of a marathon -- 26.2 miles. In total, she covered more than 9,300 miles, completing 366 marathons (she ran two her final day) at the cost of 20 pairs of shoes. All this after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which severely disrupts the nervous system, some three years earlier. It was running, she said, that helped curb the symptoms of MS without the aid of medication.
