Congolese Nun Wins the Nansen Refugee Award

Sister Angélique Namaika, a Congolese nun, has won the Nansen Refugee Award for her work with women and girls displaced by the Lord's Resistance Army in northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Through her Centre for Reintegration and Development, she has transformed the lives of more than 2,000 displaced women and girls, helping them to learn a trade, start a business or go back to school. "I will never stop doing all I can to give them hope, and the chance to live again,” said Angélique.
