Eager to read this when it comes out!
I'm really close with Evie, a Filipina caregiver that took care of my grandmother for over 5 years at my parents' house. She is a unique part of my family even though my grandma has now passed away. The friendship between her and my grandma was so sweet and wonderful, and I was honored to have her there in the room with me and my brother when my grandma passed away. She had such a wonderful way of knowing what to practically do in the face of death, but also cry with me when we just needed to step back and take it all in.

What an amazing way to approach telling the story of caregiving so that it raises awareness in a positive way. I love that these women are being celebrated for their skill. It's hard work and it's demanding. They're essentially a part of a family that's not their own- and that takes away from their time at home with their own children and loved ones.
