Common Sense From the White House: Arming Teachers Isn't the Answer

In the wake of the Newtown shooting the National Rifle Association called for America's teachers to be armed. Well, in their just-released emergency guidelines for schools, the White House chose to focus instead on common-sense "prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery from technological, human-caused, natural, and biological threats." Indeed, the guide says "the possibility of an active shooter situation is not justification for the presence of firearms on campus."
