Riding a bike in the middle of winter when the streets are covered in ice and the temperature is 20 below? No thank you.

I once worked with Lincoln Middle School in Oakland, Oregon has a walk/bike program where students in the town meet at the local hardware shop and can walk/bike to school together. The students who participate get a healthy morning snack upon arrival as well as a star. The program really encouraged parents and students to practice healthy habits together!

That sounds like a great program, Kity. Maybe healthy snacks and gold stars can get grown-up commuters to make the switch too?

Wow it got scientific evidence... As biking to school has always been one of my favorite parts of the day since elementary school...

Or borrow a co-worker's who can't bike to work everyday? Or start an office bike pool? Imagine the collective serotonin benefits.
