Audi Partnering With Green Energy Firm to Develop Bio-Gasoline

Audi has entered a partnership with Global Bioenergies to use E. coli bacteria to create iso-octane, a major component of refined gasoline.

The encouraging part about this particular development is the carbon in the bio Iso-octane created by the bacteria is extracted from the atmosphere so the impact of burning this fuel is less than traditional fossil fuels which add new carbon to the atmosphere.
