Karma Rescue was in the news recently regarding a custody battle over a dog. It appears they adopted a dog out to a new family when they knew the original family was looking for it. Coincidentally (or not) the original family is a low-income single mother living in a Hispanic part of town, and Karma's adopters are overwhelming wealth west siders. A story ran in the LA times and a very thoughtful, insightful blog post was shared by a well-respected animal rescuer There are so many wonderful rescue groups who help low-income people care for and keep their pets, it seems like one of those groups could really benefit from your help :( Just thought you should know who GOOD is aligning itself with.

This is so neat. I love seeing programs where you can see the immediate benefit to a cause. I can't wait to hear about the progress of the site and how it helps the shelter in the long term.
