Afghan Woman Designs Software to Enable Women to Work Online

On a dusty, unpaved street in Kabul, Afghanistan, Roya Mahboob's software company is designing a Web platform to enable Afghan women to continue working from home even if Taliban militants return to power. “Even if the Taliban are back, women can get online education, even if fighting starts,” says Roya, who was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world last year because of her role as a female entrepreneur working to expand Internet access for women.
