A Plastic-Filled Bag That's Actually Good for the Environment

Around the world, three billion people cook on wood fires everyday—a huge source of air pollution that leads to disease and premature death, and is a major global contributor to climate change. This simple solution that can help a little: a sturdy bag filled with polystyrene beads can go around a pot after it's hot, helping keep it warm enough to keep simmering food without being on the fire. The designers are aiming to distribute 100 million bags, keeping 100 million tonnes of CO2 out of the air.
