    As someone who isn't likely to return to school full time to pursue a much needed CS masters, it's an appealing option. Ultimately I think it'll work because the programming world doesn't care about paper all that much, but do care what you know and can do. If its credible, it would help graduates get by HR, which often just needs a box to tick off.

      It's good to know that this is actually a legit option. And as for caring about what you can do instead of worrying about the paper credential too much, that should probably be the way it goes in most HR departments.
