A Conqueror of Limits: Pilot, Inventor Looks to Cross Atlantic in Electric Plane

Chip Yates, best known for tearing past land speed records at 197 mph on an electric motorcycle, is planning to fly over the Atlantic in an electric plane. The 3,500-mile journey is a modern retelling of Charles Lindbergh's historic flight from New York to Paris in 1927. Ever willful and inventive, Yates hopes to resolve the limited range of the plane by drawing electricity from unmanned aerial vehicles that will meet him mid-flight. A daring maneuver, but one in the spirit of all pioneers.
