What many seem to forget, or want to forget is that childbirth is a normal process of the human body, not a disease that needs to be cured. Medicine treats it like a disease and there are those who have bought into it creating an environment that has unnecessarily raised the cost of childbirth, increased the c/section rate, and isolated infants from their mothers- for reasons too numerous to list here. When I hear the words "natural childbirth" I think of pregnancy as being yes, a normal function of the human body...not a disease. If more people/physicians/nurses, etc viewed pregnancy(that includes breastfeeding in public) in this light the attitude towards women and their infants might be viewed in a better light, and they would be treated and cared for way better than they are now.
