A 1,600-Year Old City Discovered Under the Sea

Franck Goddio, the grandson of an explorer, started off his career in finance, but eventually decided to leave for his true passion: underwater archeology. In 2000, Goddio discovered a lost Egyptian city that had been buried in sand and mud in the Mediterranean Sea for over 1,200 years. As they excavate, Goddio and his team are finding everything from giant religious sculptures to jewelry and gold coins.
