At age 93, Mariam Behnam continues to advocate for women's rights worldwide. As a child, she fought to go to public school when girls were only homeschooled. In the 60s, she was the first woman to earn the post of cultural consul from the Iranian government. Now a senior adviser to the Dubai International Women’s Club, she continues to campaign for the women's empowerment through education. “Educate a man and you educate one person, but educate a woman and you educate a generation," Mariam says.
