9-Year-Old Uses Family's Lemonade Recipe to Free Child Slaves

Last year, after seeing a photo of two Nepalese child slaves, 9-year-old Vivienne Harr founded Make a Stand Lemon-Aid with the help of her parents and school. Within six months, she raised over $100,000 for the antislavery campaign Not For Sale. Her lemonade is sold online and in stores, with half of profits going to antislavery organizations such as UNICEF and Free the Slaves. “I tell people that compassion is not compassion without action -– it’s just feeling sorry for someone,” says Vivienne.
