3D Printed Trachea Saves Lives

To most 3D Printing is still an amazing concept, somewhat difficult to wrap their minds around. I'm following the latest digital fabrication for medical use trends and this is a great example of what great things can come from it. The digital model of the trachea was created from high-tech CT scans of the baby and then 3-D printed with a material which can be safely absorbed into the body over a few years, once the lung has repaired itself and the splint is not needed anymore. How good is that?
