120 Children's Authors Send Obama a Letter Condemning His Administration's Standardized Testing Policies

What do Judy Blume, Maya Angelou, and over 120 other children's authors and illustrators have in common? They're speaking out against standardized testing via a letter to President Obama. "The negative impact of excessive school testing mandates, including your Administration’s own initiatives," is taking away the joy of reading. They "offer our full support for a national campaign to change the way we assess learning so that schools nurture creativity, exploration, and a love of literature."
