Write the Timeline of your Life in Just 4 Events

Haley Scott

This adorable timeline written by a preschooler includes some important, monumental dates, as well as some more immediate, simplistic moments. Both seem pretty important to this preschooler, which inspired me to think of what I would put in a timeline of my own life, and how I weigh the monumental, life-changing moments in my life against the more simple, day-to-day pleasures I experience.

What would your timeline look like? And how do you balance the monumental stuff with the more banal moments of your life? And does our assessment inform the way we enjoy the day-by-day, banal moments we experience?

Post your timeline in the comments below!!

Ha. I feel like having a doughnut should go on my list of momentous events too.

    doughnuts are definitely important :)

I'm still trying to craft mine, but I think it looks like this:
      1. my first memory of spending time with my family (in Kennebunkport, Maine, on the beach, age 5)
      2. reading David Foster Wallace's Speech at Kenyon College for the first time
      3. graduating from high school
      4. spending a summer living with my BFF

It's so hard to boil it all down to 4 major events but these are the first I thought of!

I love yours. This is a lot of fun to think of :) Currently, I am studying in LA and interning at GOOD. That will definitely have to be squeezed into my list somewhere!
