Why we're crowdfunding to reinvent the book trailer

Over the last eight or nine years, publishers have been using book trailers more frequently. At the same time, most book trailers suffer from a lack of quality, passion, and vision.

What if we could change that? What if we took the music video approach, creating independent works of art that bring people to an author, a book, or a publisher, a brand new dynamic for readers to engage with authors and discover books?

We’ve launched a Kickstarter to fund Four Literary Short Films (aka “book trailers”). We’ve chosen four established and up-and-coming writers. If successful, we’ll produce the four films, while also establishing this new art form monumentally. The campaign runs through August 24th with the goal of raising $10,000 (or 2,500 per film). As of today we’re 44% funded. Rewards include signed first editions, book bundles, writing workshops with the authors, short films and more.
