Do It

MEENA is an adaptation of this brave and inspirational true story. The film is based on a chapter from Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn's best-selling book Half The Sky (www.halftheskymovement.org), which lays out an agenda for the world's women to confront three on-going global crises: gender-based violence, maternal mortality, and sex trafficking.

I follow Nicholas Kristof on social media, and found out about the short film MEENA from him. It's short (20 minutes) but very deep and heavy, and incredibly hard to watch. But it's a powerful story that makes you want to act and do what you can to support the important cause of empowering victims and survivors.
